Irregular Teeth
Deep Bite is when the upper front teeth vertically overlap most of the lower front teeth. This can lead to severe abrasion of the front teeth, and can also interfere with movements of the jaw. If the bite is too deep it is difficult to obtain the proper horizontal overlap of the front teeth and usually the upper front teeth tend to protrude more. Deep Bite (Over Bite)

Spaces open up between teeth when the teeth are not big enough to fill up the jaw. Spaces may also be due to gum tissue attachments between the front teeth. There are other contributing factors such as missing teeth and excessive horizontal overlap of the front teeth

Normally the upper teeth are in front of the lower teeth both in the front and on the sides of the bite. Sometimes the upper jaw can be narrower than the lower resulting in a Posterior Cross Bite where in one or both sides the upper molars bite inside the lower molars. This can be corrected by widening the upper jaw with an orthopedic expander or in the case of an adult by surgically correcting the width of the upper jaw. Cross Bite
